The Boot

At 5" the Trail Boot is the shortest version of the famous Russell Bird Shooter. Designed for hiking and daily wear, the Trail Boot offers the capability of the Backcountry in an ultralight hiker configuration. 

The Leather

Made from Horween Rust Laramie Roughout, the Trail Boot is easy to maintain and even easier on the eyes. A Roughout leather maintains the grain of the hide and places that towards the interior, offering amazing comfort, while allowing the exterior to take the brunt of wear. Roughouts are an excellent choice for hiking as they can be cleaned easily with a quick brushing. Condition with Pecards.

The Construction

Made as a Double Vamp moccasin on our 40 Boot Last, the Trail Boot is incredibly light,  water resistant, and durable. This is the same construction method that we use on the Backcountry. Oak leather heel counters provide a firm, but comfortable fit that helps prevent rolled ankles in rough terrain.

The Sole

Made is Missouri, the Meramec Wedge combines the medium depth lug tread that we love in the Roccia, in a shock absorbent compound that is comfortable on long hikes and walks. Wedge soles are a favorite of ours for hiking as the shape helps provide mid-foot support while standing on rocks or logs in the trail.
